Naka Ward holds a photo contest every year as part of its initiatives to encourage more people to fall in love with Naka Ward. Last year, out of 234 entries, 25 were selected for prizes and honorable mentions. We are looking forward to receiving many entries again this year.

Gold Prize Winner

2022 General Section Gold Prize Winner: Snowy Naka Ward Office Annex, by Anri Honma

It snowed early in the new year, and by evening everywhere was covered in snow. As the snow continued to fall, the Naka Ward Office Annex was illuminated by lights and looked so beautiful that I took a picture of it.

2022 Elementary and Junior High School Student Section Gold Prize Winner: Entrance of Light in Honmoku, by Rin Murofushi

I chose this location because I felt that just one glance would be enough to tell the story of the history of Ouma Nagashi (horse figure floating), a traditional local event. I would like many people to know about this event because Honmoku is the only town in Japan where this event has been passed down for many years.

Os fotógrafos de Naka Ward Jr tomaram alguns tiros assombrosos!

Here are the winners of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes in the elementary and junior high school categories, who are 5th graders at Otori Elementary School. We asked them about their thoughts on photography and the kinds of photos they would like to take in the future

▲Prize winners, from left, Suguri Ikeda, Rin Murofushi, Minato Aoyama and Honomi Nakano.

Questions
1) Do you like taking pictures?
2) How did you feel when you were walking around town with a camera?
3) What kinds of pictures would you like to take this year?

Bronze Prize: Suguri Ikeda

 Wish

I photographed the red torii gate of Honmoku Shrine. I chose the torii gate of Honmoku Shrine because my wish really came true after I visited Honmoku Shrine before.
1) I love photography. When I look back at the photos I took, they bring back memories.
2) It was fun to walk around looking for places where I could take beautiful pictures! I thought Honmoku Shrine, which I often visit, was very attractive.
3) I would like to take more photos that show the charm of Naka Ward. There are some good spots where you can get a good view of Naka Ward, so I would like to take pictures from there.

Gold Prize: Rin Murofushi

1) I love photography because it allows me to document the good and beautiful parts of the community!
2) There were some sights that I would not have noticed if I had been walking around normally, and I would not have realized how beautiful they were unless I took pictures of them.
3) Autumn is my favorite season because it is also my birthday. I want to take pictures in the fall this year.

Bronze Prize: Minato Aoyama

 The Brilliance of Nature

I took this picture in my garden, where I often play. I took this picture because the praying mantis was on a wooden stick and it reminded me of fond memories and fun things I have done in the past.
1) Ainda não me acostumo à toma de quadros, portanto não estou seguro se serei capaz de tomá-los bem, mas gosto de tomar quadros pensando que belo será se houver muita luz no quadro.
2) I would like to go to a park or Sankeien Garden next time.
3) Green trees are not always the same, their leaves change and flowers bloom. I want to capture the charm of nature as it changes!

Silver Prize: Honomi Nakano

 Depois de cruzar a ponte...

I thought Sankeien Garden is an attractive place in Naka Ward because I think the Kankatei Arbor and bridges are very beautiful.
1) I like photography because I can show my family and friends the things that I saw and liked!
2) I have never taken the time to look around town, so I was surprised to see how nice Naka Ward really is.
3) I want to take photos that show the richness of nature in Naka Ward.

The Naka Ward Administration Policies set out ways in which Naka Ward Office will undertake the administration of the ward.

This fiscal year, we will promote the creation of a safe and secure community for people to live in, a community brimming with local vitality, and a community where everyone can live in harmony, while maintaining a strong perspective on support for children and child rearing.
