Welfare commissioners and commissioned child welfare volunteers serve as approachable advisors in the community, ready to lend an ear to your troubles. Of these, people who specialize in child welfare are called chief commissioned child welfare volunteers.
Q : What kind of person is a chief commissioned child welfare volunteer?
A : Chief commissioned child welfare volunteers are approachable advisors in the community who people can turn to for advice when they have problems with child rearing. As volunteers commissioned by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, they will listen to your concerns with the strictest of confidentiality. If necessary, they can connect you to ward offices, kindergartens, schools, and other related organizations.
Q : What kinds of things do they do?
A : They support child-rearing in the community by listening to the concerns of parents and giving advice at parent-child plazas and child-rearing gatherings in community care plazas. They also work in cooperation with schools and other related organizations.
Q : Can I talk to you about anything?
A : You can talk to a chief commissioned child welfare volunteer about baby food, daycare, school, or anything else that is on your mind. Just talking about it will surely make you feel better!
Q : Where can I go to see a chief commissioned child welfare volunteer?
A : You can see a chief commissioned child welfare volunteer at a child-rearing gathering or a parent-child plaza! At parent-child plazas, childcare workers and staff from Nonbirinko (local child rearing support center) are also on hand. These gatherings are held regularly at four locations in the ward, including neighborhood association buildings, so please stop by and visit.

Please do not hesitate to visit child-rearing gatherings and parent and parent-child plazas held in the community!
In addition to childcare-related matters, please also feel free to talk about anything else you like, whether you just want a friendly chat or are worried about something else.
You can also get to know other people who are raising children!
Yumi Hasegawa
Representative, Naka Ward Chief Commissioned Child Welfare Volunteer Liaison Committee
Talking and having a friend to smile with instead of keeping it to yourself will make child-rearing more enjoyable!
Nowadays, we can interact and get information through social media and other platforms, but there are also many events in the community that you can attend with your children. Why not try getting involved in one?

Do you know what oral frailty is?
Oral frailty is the decline of functions such as chewing and swallowing. Diz-se que a progressão da fragilidade oral se ligue a um declínio total na condição física de uma pessoa. If you have symptoms such as choking, spilling food, loss of appetite, reduced number of teeth, or dry mouth, you may be suffering from oral frailty.
Measure against oral frailty #1: Maintain healthy teeth
When a person has fewer teeth due to tooth decay or periodontal disease, their ability to chew deteriorates, leading to the progression of oral frailty. To prevent oral frailty, it is important to brush teeth correctly every day and to have regular dental checkups.
Cleaning between the teeth is key.
Always use both dental floss and interdental brushes!
A toothbrush alone removes only about 60% of stains!
How to choose a toothbrush
The brush should be flat and small.
Aim to replace your toothbrush once a month.
To prevent oral frailty, it is important to preserve the ability to chew for a long time. Biting ability varies greatly depending on the number of teeth in good health. Os exames minuciosos e os cleanings no escritório do dentista são importantes para manter a saúde dental, então por favor visite o seu dentista em uma base regular.

Chairperson, Naka Ward Dental Association
Measure against oral frailty #2: Strengthen your chewing and swallowing power
Try to improve your chewing and swallowing power in your daily life!
Gargle properly
1. Gargle thoroughly for about 10 seconds (Make sure to puff out your cheeks)
2. Gargle once more for about 10 seconds
Chew your food well
Chew your food with your back teeth 30 times per mouthful.
This will help maintain the muscles around your mouth and prevent obesity.
